Good Morning Tribe. Beautiful day today, and I am in a very very good mood. Dooney’s Kitchen got featured on Wayfair UK, as part of their Father’s day Inspiration. Click HERE If you don’t know who or what Wayfair is, let me explain briefly. They are a multi billion dollar up market home and lifestyle company. Think of them like the IKEA for rich people. The story of how this company was founded in California resonates with me strongly. When you have a passion, just go for it. The owners grew this from the basement of one of their homes, to what it is now. They have presence in major markets all over the world. So, when the online content editor wrote to me asking if my recipe can be featured, well you know the answer. I SAID YES!!!!!!! Then she came back and said oh, can we use the picture as the cover picture for the feature, oh wow, sure you can. This right here is why I believe strongly in Nigerian Food Fusion. That is how to catch the eye of people, who ordinarily may not have given your picture a second glance, because they can’t relate to it. So, people Dooney’s Kitchen Uziza and Rosemary crusted Lamb with Ukwa mash is taking centre stage at Wayfair UK, and all their social media pages. It is such an eye catching picture that I am sure, many people would want to try it. I remember shooting this picture at night. At that time, I didn’t like it, until I started editing, and I thought ooooh, okay, maybe not so bad, still I didn’t like it
and I got out the Iphone6 and took the picture below. You know what they say about the cornerstone that the builder rejected.
In hindsight, comparing both, the top picture is the better picture. Sharp and professional. Feedback from Wayfair, it is so beautiful and crisp, we would like to use it for the cover picture. SCORE!!!!!!!! #TeamCanon. I was just telling myself last week that I have all these expensive camera gear, and i haven’t used them in more than 3 months. I have been relying too much on the Iphone6 plus because it is just convenient, and I can edit on the phone too, nah, I have 4 figures worth of gear, and the weather is beautiful now. Get ready people, for some more stunning images.
I would like to say thank you to you guys, for your continuing support. I am praying for more opportunities like this and even better for some exposure. I recently came across Aduna on Instagram, and what they are doing with Baobab is nothing short of phenomenal. Their #makebaobabfamous campaign has gotten the eye of food celebrities. I hope they win Richard Branson’s Virgin pitch to rich competition, because THAT will truly put African food on the map and get people interested in what else that continent has to offer food wise. Baobab is the new Quinoa. You can support them by voting HERE. Vote please, do it for you, do it for us, do it for your children and grandchildren. We are 50 years too late in the food game, this is our time, this our now. We can make a difference, with one voice, one heart and two hands. With Virgin’s backing of an African food product, do you know what that will do, for people like me as a Nigerian food blogger in the UK, and many of us in the food business. Vote, people. See you at the top

Dooney! Congrats dear.
Please i have some questions concerning storing green plantain in the freezer. How long can you store them without peeling it. And Will they still be hard in consistency just like before you put them in the freezer. And will it still be good to prepare unripe plantain pottage with?
Hi, Yes they would. As long as electricity is constant, they should be fine. Their consistency also stays intact, when cooking. I do the same for yam too.
Ok thank you. Soo is it better stored peeled or unpeeled. And can i store it for upto 2months in the freezer?
Unpeeled
Congratulations!!!!!! I’m so glad I voted as soon as your mail came in, I didn’t know the deadline was so close. Hopefully, we will make Baobab famous for Africa 🙂
