Festive Meal Planner

Ramadan Weekly Menu plan

I did this last year to great success, as it is that time of the year again, I have been asked to please post a weekly menu plan for Ramadan. There are more recipes on the blog as compared with last year, so I hope this is as robust and as helpful for you guys all over the world. The menu plan was designed to be less stressful for Sahur, and then you can go to town for Iftar, starting with a simple quick option to stave off hunger after prayers, while you bear down and cook the main dishes. I have also presented options, depending on the size of your family, or if you will be cooking for just yourself, you will find something useful. Ramadan Kareem!!!

This is very nice. I can’t imagine eating all that food for sahur or iftar though. For me it’s usually a bottle of water for the former and kunu gyada with moi-moi for the latter. Dinner depends on what I feel like eating.

The meals are to give options though, and not all. I hope you were inspired

Dooney Rooneyscoco. Have I told you lately how much I love you? You made a schedule last year and I prayed for you and then you went ahead and did it again. May Allah bless you and reward your generousity and ingenuity. As some people have shared, most of our fasting stomachs can’t handle all these goodness but we appreciate the guide. As a health nut, I survive on green smoothies, protein shakes, salads and other light meals but I love the options you have on here especially when you have to feed a family. I will keep harassing you about healthy food options too.

Can’t wait for your cookbook as I am also tired of wiping food stains off my mobile devices.

Thank you again for all that you do for us and I hope to pay it forward someday.

Nigerian food, is bold, multi faceted, rich, colourful, spicy and with varied nuances, as you move from tribe to tribe. To describe Nigerian cooking, one would say it is fiercely traditional and somewhat dogmatic, but Dooney’s Kitchen proposes to simplify methods and steps that have been passed from generation to generation whilst also challenging some of these methods using Technology. The New Nigerian Cookery isn’t just about creating a New Nigerian Kitchen, or should we say a more technology aware Nigerian cooking experience, but it encompasses redefining recipes too. Come along on the journey, and welcome to one of the best online resources for Nigerian food.
