I get this question all the time. Dunni, what kitchen gadgets do I buy. I see you use quite a few and I am confused.
All the pictures below are a quick snapshot of the kitchen gadgets that I have at home and will gladly recommend.
Kenwood Dicing Attachment. Here it is dicing Cucumbers. It dices in perfect 10mm x 10mm cubes ?????????????? #SalsaLoading. ?? ain't nobody got time for manual cutting ??. Tag your friends and family. We have been saved from the drudgery of chopping. Fried rice, salad, giz dodo, you name it. Your next best kitchen angel is here.
These arrived yesterday evening and it was so apt because yesterday was an Italian centric day. The girls and I had a London day out yesterday, with different appointments, one of which was applying for an Italian Schengen visa and it ended with lunch at an Italian restaurant. One of us suggested Nando's and I wasn't too chuffed about it. We were in Victoria, of all places. We spotted Jamie Oliver's Italian, which made me quicken my steps, only to see that it was opening Jun 29. Kai, how annoying. So we walked a bit and found Zizi's, another Italian restaurant. The food was gooood. We had Focaccia with garlic butter, olives and a glass of Prosecco to start. When you are having a girls lunch, of course you have to have a glass of bubbly a la Sex and the City. #dontjudge ??. Then came a plate of Spaghetti Bolognese, Chicken Risotto and Seabass Cartoccio – which is simply fish steamed in paper parcels. Don't go to Lunch with me, and order something I like because my Oliver Twist fingers are going to find their way to your plate ??. How disappointing to find that the spaghetti wasn't fresh. I was saying with confidence, that if this was Jamie's restaurant the pasta would have been fresh. The sauce was nice anyway. I don't like risotto, so no pinching of there, but the whole time I was thinking I "needs" to make me a Nigerian inspired Risotto. It was such a good day. No work, no blog, just Dunni hanging out with girls, eating and having a good time. Lord knows I need to go out more. We spent almost 3 hours, eating and planning our Italian holiday next month to #turnup for a friend's 30th. We are starting from Rome and heading to Tuscany. Tiramisu for dessert, with more gisting and laughing, then sadly it was time to go home. Waiting for me at the door were these babies ????. I ordered them to try out Gluten free pasta using Nigerian flours. I have some wicked ideas in mind and @naturaljunkie has shone a light on the path by making Bean Flour Pasta. Yup, Pasta a la Beans. You see I'm not entirely crazy after all. Prepare to see some Tagliatelle a la Nigeriana. Watch out Italians, your African cousins are coming to play ????. Wish me luck ?
Top of the morning to you #dooneyskitchentribe. This isn't a sponsored post, but I have gotten soooooo many messages, since yesterday about this device, I think this post will answer all your questions. Hey, the more people I induct into the #TeamKitchenGadgetJunkie club, the better ???. This is what my friend Lola has, it is a Ninja Mega Kitchen System. It comes with a really big blender jug with 6 blades for all your blending needs. This thing is a 1500 W beast. It decimates errrrrything. It also comes with a food processor bowl with two blades. One for chopping, and the other a dough blade, which you use with the dough button on the motor base. For things like pounded yam, meat pie dough, cookie dough, chin chin and errrrything dough. For #TeamFitfam, it also comes with two smoothie cups. It is called a Kitchen System for a reason. It has something for everybody. P.S I don't sell it, neither do I know where you can buy in Nigeria. If you run a personal shopper business where you shop for your clients abroad and ship to them in Nigeria, contact me for a Sponsored Instagram Post. Don't tag yourself ???, but you can tag a friend who needs one. The more the merrier ???. #howininja #gooddeedforth#howininja I already have the Ninja Auto IQ for smoothies, if not, my itchy fingers would have gone to Costco to buy one. Never say never sha, my brain might twitch one day ???. Pic credit:Walmart. @ninjakitchen
I am a kitchen gadget junkie, many of you guys know that by now. You see, I have been stealthily inducting my friends to the club. Insert mischievous laughter. I was at Costco a few weeks ago with my friend Lola, and I was regaling the benefits of a Ninja blender. It happened that it was on sale. I guess she was convinced. This kitchen system is gangster. Here it is, making pounded yam. The story she told of her husband eating pounded yam for the first time in years, made me smile and cheer. That is what #dooneyskitchen does. Bringing joy to homes and creating lasting food memories. We agreed that The next time I visited, I would bring the soup, while she made Pounded yam. I represented with Banga Soup ???. That blender jug though. 6 blades. Can you say gangster. She said it blends beans so smooth, it looks like body lotion ??. This also comes with two cups for smoothies, which her kids love. So, it is something for the whole family. I have a Ninja Auto IQ for my daily smoothies. Lola and I are now Ninja Sisters. Hehehehehehe. #howininja #howininjaPoundedYam #westafrican
The Kenwood Multipro Excel unboxed. It has taken over everywhere o. This thing is not a food processor, it is a BEAST!!!!!! #TeamKenwood #KenwoodMultiPro #FoodProcessorforProfessionals. My head is considering all the possibilities. This baby is going to work HARD!!!!!!! More than the designers and engineers at Kenwood ever envisaged. Le Kitchen is mightily pleased. Leggo
I was raised in a very large family, with a lot of older women and with that came parables and stories. One of which I still remember till this day. The summary is, your actions are like paying money into two bank accounts. One for your good deeds and one for your bad deeds. Each account has interests and charges on it and you will receive the full measure of the proceeds of each account. The one you "pay" more into, will determine the course of your destiny. Which account are you "paying" more into? Food for thought. In the interest of paying it forward, a philosophy I try to uphold each day, I am giving out this food processor and all its attachments to @amirahtemz. I read each and every comment and yours was the most deserving. I couldn't with good conscience do a lucky draw. I hope it serves you well. Please send me an email, to arrange collection.
Trying to pump up my juicing game. Frozen fruit is the way to go and that Lakeland one wasn't cutting it with frozen fruit. Trying this out. #gadgetSaturday. Yes, me and my gadgets. Our love affair is too strong ???. @funjayjay you know this is all your fault. I got this from Lakeland. Please why is eyebrow threading so painful. I swear, some of the fluid in my brain has slipped out from my eyes ???. #howininja
My traitorous self was considering this last week. I almost succumbed, then I looked at the price again and thought, for what. Sharply I paid for the Kenwood, which will be delivered todaaaaaay!!!! I saw this at Lakeland yesterday and was so grateful I didn't succumb, especially as I have seen my Kenwood at a friends house. I would have been pissed on opening the box. So, not impressed. #TeamKitchenAid, let me diss y'all a little. Sorry, but it is oogly, like not cute at all. Looks like something from the Middle Ages. Too clunky, even the controls. No offence. Kenwood for the win ???.
Here's to all the times my mother brought home a big basket of potatoes and announced that we were having chips for dinner. Here's to the grumbling, the angst, the tears, the annoyance, the….. You get what I mean. #beingfemaleinnigeria #beingafemalefirstborninNigeria is such a pain. You would spend goodness knows how long peeling the potatoes (#Kenwood has an attachment that peels potatoes by the way), then you would chip them, then fry. By the time you are done, you won't even want the chips anymore. Imagine doing that for 2 adults and 3 children ????. I made yam chips in 10 seconds. OMG!!!! I could cry right now ????. @feyiolu #KitchenAid ???
