For someone like me who cooks often, i tend to buy pepper in bulk as it seems to be one of the most ubiquitous ingredients in Nigerian cooking. The easiest form of storage for me is the freezer. I make sure NOT to rinse. Take careful note of that. if you rinse, they stick together when frozen. You rinse when you want to cook with it. I do this for all kinds of pepper.
Alternatively, if you have the storage space for it or plastic containers, you can blend your pepper mix, pour into containers, and store. Don’t forget to label with either a marker or masking tape. I prefer masking tape because I can tear it off and re-apply a fresh strip when neccesary.
If you are rather lazy like me, yesssss I am, why do you think I have so many gadgets, haha. You can portion your mixed peppers in freezer bags and when you need them, just take out a bag, defrost and blend. This will save you the stress of sorting out your frozen peppers anytime you need them. Using simple tricks like this can save you time, from busy singletons to wives, husbands and parents. Yes, I don’t discriminate. Men should cook too. Lol
