Anuli in Igbo means joy, happiness, excitement, brightness, and it encapsulates what this sauce means to me. The day I finally got the recipe right, I felt this sudden rush of elation, I felt so alive, with the flavours rhyming in sync, that I was literally bursting with joy. I knew there and then, what to name it and the Igbo members of the Dooney’s Kitchen Tribe provided a beautiful translation.

Anulichurri looks and feels like the sun is in your kitchen, brightening up your cooking and making happy memories at mealtimes. Its sweet, spicy and tangy notes will transport you into realms of flavour, like you haven’t experienced before.

Anulichurri is more than just a sauce, it’s a food creation borne out of joy, and I hope with every bite, you feel the joy and the love that went into making it.

Can be used as a Seasoning Sauce to amplify your cooking, as a Marinade for grilling proteins, as a Condiment to be stirred into Egg dishes, Pasta dishes, Rice dishes, Salad dressings, or used as a Dip. Oh, yum, yum.
